Summer of Learning
Welcome to The Seattle Public Library's Summer of Learning program, ASTOUNDING TALES OF NATURE! We are happy to offer hundreds of free programs and activities to keep kids and families engaged in reading and learning all summer long.
Pick up a free Explorer's Handbook from your library branch or download and print out the activities and begin exploring nature-related experiments, activities, games, puzzles and reading recommendations.
Read whatever interests you, whether it's a book, a comic, a poem, riddles, a recipe or you can read to somebody else (even your dog or cat!)... it all counts! Read for 30 days or more this summer and keep track of your reading in your Explorer's Handbook.
Get your name on your library's WALL OF ASTOUNDING EXPLORERS by completing at least FIVE activities in your Explorer's Handbook or by reading 30 days or more over the summer.
Ask a librarian about the SUPER SECRET MYSTERY CHALLENGE!
Attend free programs all summer long at a library near you. Note: Some programs require pre-registration. Registration will open 2 weeks before the start of each workshop or series.
