Summer of Learning: Blast off to Space!
Welcome to the Seattle Public Library's Summer Learning Program page!
The library has offered summer reading and learning programs for Seattle youth since 1919 – this next summer will be our 99th year of summer youth programming!
Summer of Learning at the Library provides youth:
Fun and educational programs that reflect the rich cultural communities of Seattle
Activities to support reading for fun over the summer
Early literacy engagement for families with young children (ages 0-5)
Access to books and reading, especially for youth experiencing barriers
Learning experiences that center youth interests
Exposure to STEAM-related programming to build skills and confidence
Youth can participate by attending over free 250 programs offered in every neighborhood in the city; by completing a free activity booklet filled with puzzles, games and activities; completing a BINGO card of early learning activities; and reading.
In 2018, our Summer of Learning theme will be related to Environment/Nature.
Check back here in May for more information as we launch the 2018 Summer of Learning at The Seattle Public Library!
