Library Closed Monday, May 29

All locations of The Seattle Public Library and the book drops at the Central Library will be closed on Memorial Day, Monday, May 29.

 

Service interruption in the Library's Online Catalog – May 28 and May 29

The Library will be performing maintenance on our catalog starting at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, May 28 - 6:30 p.m. Monday, May 29. During this time, you will be able to search the Bibliocommons catalog, but will not be able to log in, place holds, renew items or use other catalog features. The former Library catalog (Horizon Information Portal), SPL Mobile, access to e-books, free music downloads and many databases and applications also will be unavailable.

Availability and Rates: Central Library Meeting Rooms

The Central Library's meeting rooms and spaces rates vary according to time and day of use as shown in the tables below. Rates are calculated in 4-hour increments (a meeting from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. would be at the 4-hour rate; a meeting from 9 a.m. to 5 p.mm would be twice the 4-hour rate). Allowances can be made for set-up and tear-down of the meeting space if arranged in advance, although additional fees may apply. Meeting room users are expected to arrive not more than 30 minutes in advance unless pre-arranged with Library events staff. Discounts are available for multiple room rentals.

 

All rooms and rates include Wi-Fi, setup, teardown, cleaning, and waste removal.

 

Garage parking is available at listed public rates. Special parking rates for evening events are available if arranged in advance.

 

Class "A" Use

Class A rates apply to non-profit groups, government agencies and City of Seattle departments for non-commercial use (e.g., no admission fee, vendor fee and/or donation is requested or received.) Events may or may not be open to the public and may occur during or outside of regular Library operating hours.

 

The Spiral 6 and Mixing Chamber meeting rooms are available at no charge to non-profit groups for meetings, once per month, Monday through Friday during open hours as long as no admission fee, vendor fee and/or donation is requested or received.

 

Class "B" or "C" Use

Class "B" rates apply to non-profit groups whose events or meetings involve admission fees, donations or commercial use. Events may or may not be open to the public and may occur during or outside of regular Library operating hours.

 

Class "C" rates apply to businesses, private individuals or private groups. Admission or vendor fees may be collected and donations may be received during the event. Events may be held during or outside regular Library operating hours. Examples of Class C use include private parties, receptions, seminars or workshops.

 

Weekdays: Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. (Friday until 6 p.m.)*

Prices are for any length of time 4 hours or less. Full day meetings or meetings longer than 4 hours are charged at twice the rate.

Audio/Video Technician (required for all use of auditorium) includes all microphones, video, projection, screen, audio, ADA equipment, automated door, setup, tear-down, in-session adjustments, and piano. Clients must provide their own laptop.
