Level 3 construction work starts June 20

Work to add four pole lights on Level 3 will begin June 20 and continue for about two weeks. Areas may be cordoned off at times.

Library closed Monday, July 4

All locations of The Seattle Public Library and the book drops at the Central Library will be closed on Independence Day, Monday, July 4.

The Seattle Channel presents a half-hour documentary on the opening of the new downtown library. 'A Library for All' features behind the scenes planning with former City Librarian Deborah Jacobs, staff and architects; footage of project architect Rem Koolhass; interviews with library board members; and a tour of the new building with Jacobs.
