Live Citizenship Help

Get free help preparing for the English and history citizenship tests seven days a week from 3 p.m. - 11 p.m.  Live help is not available on holidays but you still have access to online resources and tests. You must have a Library card and PIN to use this resource.

Adult Learning Activities

News Stories for English language learners. Improve basic English skills using real-life stories on topics of interest to adults.

Mango Languages

Online language learning for over 60 world languages plus English (ESL) instruction in 18 languages.

Online Homework Help

Students get help with ESL homework through this online program.  Help is also available for other subjects, such as math and science.  Available in English seven days a week from 1 p.m. - 10 p.m. Tutors are not available on holidays but you still have access to online resources and tests. Disponible en español 1 p.m. - 10 p.m. siete días a la semana.

King County Adult Literacy Consortium

A group of community and technical colleges, community based organizations, and libraries in King County that help adults gain the skills they need to support their families and earn livable wages. 

King County Library System - ESL Learners

The King County Library System's resources for learners, including ESL classes, Talk Times, and citizenship classes around King County.

Literacy Council of Seattle
Offers private tutoring for adults seeking to improve English or basic skills.  LCS also offers classes at locations throughout Seattle.

Literacy Source

Provides learner-centered instruction to adults in English literacy, citizenship, and basic life skills. Literacy Source is based in Fremont but offers programs in southwest Seattle, Tukwila, and SeaTac.

St. James Immigrant Assistance

Provides free English instruction and citizenship assistance to low-income adult refugees and immigrants in Seattle and King County.
