Summer of Learning Program Goals
WHY DOES THE LIBRARY OFFER THE SUMMER OF LEARNING FOR YOUTH?
Our goal is to provide young people in Seattle with many opportunities to learn and explore new ideas, discoveries and creations through fun, hands-on activities and through reading. Our summer programming will highlight lots of fun learning activities about STEAM – science, technology, engineering, arts and math. The STEAM focus of the program helps to support the reading, writing, and academic achievement of young people - it will help mitigate the summer slide, and support many areas of the Common Core State Standards.

The 2015 Summer of Learning: Wild Science is funded by generous donations from The Seattle Public Library Foundation, US Bank and Woodland Park Zoo.
