Free one-hour workshops teach students how to use the Library's online resources (online newspapers, magazines, journals and encyclopedias) for homework and research. Students also learn information literacy skills - how to evaluate online information.
The workshops begin on level 3 of the Central Library with a brief tour of the Teen Center. Workshops are taught by teen librarians in the computer labs on level 4 and may be tailored to a subject area or school assignment.
Seattle-area middle school and high school teachers or school officials may sign-up for a workshop for up to 32 students. The workshops are available at 10 a.m. or 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday mornings. A completed registration form should be dropped off, mailed or faxed to the Teen Center at least three weeks in advance of the requested date.
