Classes & Learning for Adults

Adult Classes

The Library offers FREE classes for adults, teens, ESL learners and Spanish, Chinese, Vietnamese and Russian speakers at many Library locations. A Library card is not needed unless noted below.

 

Classes for Adults

 

Computer Classes - Learn basic computer skills, how to use the Web, sign up for email, and more.


Special Classes - Learn more about using the Library's online resources to research topics such as genealogy. See what we offer!

 

 

Online Learning

 

Computer Skills - Learn how to use a mouse, type on a keyboard, use email, and use software applications such as Word and Excel.


"How-to" Videos - Learn how to use the Library catalog, find a job, download digital books, movies and music, do research, and more!


Live College Help(Opens a new window) - Use your Library card to get free help in Math, Science, Social studies, and English seven days a week from 1 p.m. - 10 p.m. Live help is not available on holidays but you still have access to online resources and tests.


Mango Languages(Opens a new window) - Learn a language or improve your English. Online language learning for over 20 world languages plus English (ESL) instruction in 15 languages. Requires a Library card and PIN.


Transparent Language Online(Opens a new window) - An online language learning program in over 70 languages including English as a Second Language. Requires a Library card and PIN.


LearningExpress(Opens a new window) - Take a practice test for the civil service, firefighters, law enforcement, military, nurses, real estate, teachers and more. Requires a Library card and PIN.

 

Universal Class(Opens a new window) - Over 500 continuing education (non-credit) courses online. Lessons available 24/7. Communicate with real instructors via e-mail.
