The Seattle Public Library hosts 'Seattle Writes' workshops

Seattle Writes

The Seattle Public Library will host the Seattle Writes workshop series at several Library locations this summer and fall. Learn how to write poetry, blog, start a novel, and more.


The workshops are free and open to the public. Registration is not required. Free parking is available at the branches; parking is available in the Central Library garage at the regular rates.

Taking the Mystery Out of Getting Published - Six published crime writers will unveil the mysteries of writing and publishing in today's evolving marketplace. Panelists will include Bernadette Pajer, Mike Lawson, Charles Philipp Martin, Waverly Fitzgerald, Judy Dailey and Leslie Budewitz.


Poetry - Instructor Janée J. Baugher will teach beginning poets through writing exercises, lecture and ideas for future poetic engagement.


Marketing & Social Media for Authors - Learn how to navigate the complicated landscape of blogs, forums  and networking sites from instructor Andrea Dunlop, publicity and social media director of Girl Friday Productions.


Blogging for Beginners - Discover the basics of blogging from author and Hugo House instructor Rebecca Agiewich.


Start Your Novel - Get started on your novel with writing exercises led by writer Waverly Fitzgerald.
