Library Closed Monday, Feb. 15
All locations of The Seattle Public Library and the book drops at the Central Library will be closed on Presidents Day, Monday, Feb. 15.
Possible service interruption in online Library services Feb. 13 - 14
The Library will be performing maintenance on our network. While we are not expecting service interruptions during this period, there might be brief interruptions in online services. You will be able to search the Bibliocommons catalog, but may not be able to log in, place holds, renew items or use other catalog features. The former Library catalog (Horizon Information Portal) may experience outages as well. SPL Mobile, access to e-books, free music downloads and many databases and applications also may be affected.
The Northeast Branch of The Seattle Public Library holds poetry contest in April
Adults, teens and children are invited to enter their original poetry in the Northeast Branch All Ages Poetry Contest during the month of April.
Poems must be no longer than one page and can be written in any style. Entries must be received by Tuesday, April 30. Contest rules and the required entry form are available at the Northeast Branch, 6801 35th Ave. N.E.
Contest winners will have the chance to read their poems at an awards ceremony from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 21 at the Northeast Branch. As time allows, there will also be an open mike where anyone present can read their original poetry.
All poems submitted for the contest will be bound into booklets available for viewing at the branch.
