The Seattle Public Library offers access to lynda.com

The Seattle Public Library now offers access to lynda.com, an online resource featuring instructional videos that teach software and computer skills.

Patrons can access lynda.com from the Library's website (http://www.spl.org/library-collection/articles-and-research/databases-a-z). The Library's lynda.com subscription allows access only from Library computers. Videos are not downloadable or transferrable to another device.

The lynda.com library offers over 1,600 courses and more than 90,000 streaming videos. Users can learn to retouch photos, design websites, record songs, create spreadsheets, animate 3D graphics and more. Software topics covered include Adobe Creative Suite, Blackboard, Avid, Open Source and more.

"The Library is excited to provide access to lynda.com for our patrons," said Kirk Blankenship, electronic resources librarian. "It is a great complement to our existing online learning services like Learning Express and Safari."
