Library Closed Monday, May 29

All locations of The Seattle Public Library and the book drops at the Central Library will be closed on Memorial Day, Monday, May 29.


Service interruption in the Library's Online Catalog – May 28 and May 29

The Library will be performing maintenance on our catalog starting at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, May 28 - 6:30 p.m. Monday, May 29. During this time, you will be able to search the Bibliocommons catalog, but will not be able to log in, place holds, renew items or use other catalog features. The former Library catalog (Horizon Information Portal), SPL Mobile, access to e-books, free music downloads and many databases and applications also will be unavailable.

The Seattle Public Library presents workshop on using grant-seeking database Dec. 4 & 12

Intro to Finding Funders

The Seattle Public Library presents "Introduction to Finding Funders," a free workshop on how to use Foundation Directory Online to find grants, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4 and 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 12 at the Central Library, Level 4, Howard S. Wright & Janet W. Ketcham Meeting Room 2.


Both workshop sessions are free and open to the public. Registration is not required. Parking is available in the Central Library garage at the regular rates.


Attendees will receive a hands-on introduction to Foundation Directory Online, a database that includes 100,000 grant makers and is free of charge at the Central Library. The database allows the user to create customized searches to develop a targeted list of foundations, find out about grants related to a specific subject area or field of interest, and more.
