'Give Big for Books' and support The Seattle Public Library May 15

Give Big for Books

Wednesday, May 15 is a great day to support The Seattle Public Library by making a donation during the GiveBIG giving challenge.

GiveBIG is a community-wide giving challenge to raise millions of dollars for local nonprofit organizations. The challenge was created to inspire generous giving to nonprofits that make the Seattle area a healthier and more vital place to live.

The Seattle Public Library Foundation is calling the day "GiveBIG for Books" to urge the community to support the Library's collection. Each year, donations to The Seattle Public Library Foundation funds about one out of every five books on library shelves.

Donations can be made by credit card (VISA, Mastercard, and Discover) online beginning at midnight, Wednesday, May 15 via foundation.spl.org.

The first $50,000 donated will be matched by The Seattle Public Library Foundation Board.

The GiveBIG community-wide event is sponsored by The Seattle Foundation.
