Library Closed Monday, Feb. 15
All locations of The Seattle Public Library and the book drops at the Central Library will be closed on Presidents Day, Monday, Feb. 15.
Possible service interruption in online Library services Feb. 13 - 14
The Library will be performing maintenance on our network. While we are not expecting service interruptions during this period, there might be brief interruptions in online services. You will be able to search the Bibliocommons catalog, but may not be able to log in, place holds, renew items or use other catalog features. The former Library catalog (Horizon Information Portal) may experience outages as well. SPL Mobile, access to e-books, free music downloads and many databases and applications also may be affected.
The Seattle Public Library presents free screening of 'Girl Model' April 25
The Seattle Public Library presents a free screening of the PBS documentary "Girl Model" from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, April 25 at the Central Library, 1000 Fourth Ave., Level 1, Microsoft Auditorium.
Library events and programs are free and open to the public. Registration is not required. Parking is available in the Central Library garage for $5 after 5 p.m.
Told through the eyes of a 13-year-old Siberian girl and the American scout who discovered her, "Girl Model" follows a complex global supply chain of young girls sent abroad to seek their fortunes in the unregulated and murky world of the modeling industry.
