Library Closed Monday, Feb. 15
All locations of The Seattle Public Library and the book drops at the Central Library will be closed on Presidents Day, Monday, Feb. 15.
Possible service interruption in online Library services Feb. 13 - 14
The Library will be performing maintenance on our network. While we are not expecting service interruptions during this period, there might be brief interruptions in online services. You will be able to search the Bibliocommons catalog, but may not be able to log in, place holds, renew items or use other catalog features. The former Library catalog (Horizon Information Portal) may experience outages as well. SPL Mobile, access to e-books, free music downloads and many databases and applications also may be affected.
The Seattle Public Library offers reading suggestions on Facebook Nov. 14
Looking for great books to read? Librarians from The Seattle Public Library will offer personal reading suggestions via Facebook from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14. Seattle Times books editor Mary Ann Gwinn and novelist Maria Semple (author of "Where'd You Go, Bernadette?") will join the session as special guests.
To get reading suggestions during this event, log on to your Facebook account and visit the Library's Facebook page. Post a note on the Library's timeline with the titles of three books you have enjoyed in the past. Librarians will reply with titles and authors for you to try.
Readers are also always welcome to get personalized book lists with five hand-picked titles from the Library's "Your Next Five Books" service available on the Library's website at www.spl.org/yournext5.
