The Seattle Public Library offers computer and library skills classes for beginners

Computer classes

The Seattle Public Library offers free beginning computer classes for people who have little or no experience with computers, and classes on how to make the most of free Library resources.

 

The classes are free and open to the public. Parking is available in the Central Library garage at the regular rates. Free parking is available at the branches. Class descriptions, times and locations are listed below. Locations vary each month. Registration is required where noted. Seating may be limited based on room capacity. Computer Basics 1 - Learn how to use a computer keyboard and mouse.

  • 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8 at the Green Lake Branch, 7364 E. Green Lake Dr. N., 206-684-7547. Registration is required.

Computer Basics 2 - Learn how to use basic features of the Windows software operating system. The session will cover using the toolbars, scroll bar and text boxes. Prerequisites: Computer Basics 1 or the ability to use a computer mouse.

Craigslist Basics - Learn the basics of setting up and managing a Craigslist account, search for ads, posting ads and adding a photo to an ad.

E-books and Downloads - Get tips for finding and downloading e-books and digital audiobooks. Prerequisites: Internet Basics or the ability to use the Internet, and an active email account.
