The Seattle Public Library hosts 'Bikes for Books' reading program for kids at the Green Lake Branch
Children are invited to read books for a chance to win a bike. The Green Lake Branch of The Seattle Public Library is hosting a "Bikes for Books" reading program now through Nov. 30. A celebration and prize drawing will take place at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 1 at the Green Lake Branch, 7364 E. Green Lake Dr. N.
Winners will be chosen at the drawing and must be present to win. Certificates of accomplishment will be presented to all participants. Free parking is available at the branch.
"Bikes for Books" at the Green Lake Branch is open to children in first, second and third grades. Participants are allowed to enter their names for the drawing once for every ten books they read between Oct. 1 and Nov. 30. One girl and one boy will each win a bike, helmet and lock.
"Bikes for Books" is sponsored by the Masonic Lodge #149 in Green Lake.
