The Seattle Public Library hosts film screening of 'American Winter' Nov. 9

"American Winter"

The Seattle Public Library will host a screening of the documentary film "American Winter" from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9 at the Central Library, 1000 Fourth Ave., Level 1, Microsoft Auditorium.

Library programs and events are free and open to the public. Registration is not required. Parking is available in the Central Library garage for $6 on weekends.

Filmed during the winter of 2011-2012 in Portland, Ore., "American Winter" reveals the human impact of budget cuts to social services, rising poverty and economic inequality, and the fracturing of the American Dream.

A moderated discussion will follow the film.

This event is supported by The Seattle Public Library Foundation and media sponsor The Seattle Times. It is presented in partnership with Real Change.
